We brought this clean volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car. It appears to have been regularly serviced. This was a local birmingham car and the prior owner showed us recent service work that included a new timing belt and also a new driveshaft. The timing belt service was very recent and the driveshaft is an occasional service item when the front and rear universal joint assemblies get worn. In this case, it appears that the prior owner opted to install a new driveshaft assembly which includes all of the replacement parts plus a new center carrier bearing. Since the timing belt service included water pump and seals, we decided to change the spark plugs since we typically do that with a timing belt service. The vehicle is now equipped with denso® brand spark plugs for optimal performance. We also did an engine oil/filter change, replacing the oil cap seal and also installing the correct aluminum drain plug washer. The rear brakes looked fine. The prior owner was very up front about the vehicle and advised us that the air conditioning system needed a charge every few months to stay cold. We leak tested the system and discovered that it had a leaking condenser. It is a big job, but we didn’t want to sell this car knowing that this issue was present. So, we replaced the leaking condenser and installed a new cabin air filter. The system is operational just as designed. Finishing off, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. We brought this clean volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken care of the car. It appears to have been regularly serviced. While the vehicle was in the shop, we installed a new oem volvo water pump, serpentine belt and idler wheel. We also installed new spark plugs, air filter and original equipment volvo battery. Volvo specifies conventional oil in this engine so we used the correct viscosity and volume. The engine is smooth and responsive, just as designed. Moving along to the chassis, the brakes looked great, front and rear. It also appears that newer drive axles have been installed. During the drive, i noticed some noise from the right wheel so we installed new strut mounts on both sides up front. We noticed a minor leak on one of the tires and it turned out to be a leaking tire pressure monitor seal. Finishing up, we installed a new cabin air filter. Shop around and then add it up! We brought this clean volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car. It appears to have been regularly serviced. Since we could not verify the mileage for the last timing belt, we did the service. Doing the job right, we installed new cam seals, new vvt o-rings, new timing belt, tensioner and idler wheel. When we do timing belts, we replace the spark plugs and we installed a new set of denso® brand plugs. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. Test driving the vehicle after the transmission service, we noticed a slight vibration at highway speeds under load. That’s a sign of the drive axle needing service, so we replaced both front drive axles with remanufactured units. While changing the drive axles, we changed the top engine mount as well as the lower right. The prior owner had recently done an oil change and the service label indicates that the next oil change is at 149k miles. On the chassis, we noted a noise from the front suspension and traced it down to the coil spring mount. While we had the vehicle apart for service, we noted that the vehicle had close to new brakes, front and rear. Moving along the outside of the vehicle, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. As we drove the vehicle, the climate control worked fine but we heard the occasional chirp noise from the blower motor. We finished up this vehicle be changing the cabin air filter. Finishing off under the hood, we did an oil/filter change using the correct viscosity oil. We also changed the oil cap seal and installed the correct aluminum drain plug washer. This is volvo’s high-performance entry into the sport wagon market. To those that are familiar with the volvo designation, this is the highly optioned model with performance accents. Featured on this model is the 2. 5 liter dohc turbo engine, larger 17-inch wheels, special xenon lighting and trim as well as upgraded suspension options. This vehicle is very clean and cared for. We brought this clean volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car. It appears to have been regularly serviced. Checking over the vehicle, we found a few oil leaks so we replaced the rear main seal along with all of the front camshaft seals. While we had everything apart, we installed a new timing belt, tensioner and idler wheel. While servicing the timing belt, we also replace spark plugs so we installed a new set of denso® brand plugs for optimal performance. Continuing under the hood, we replaced the crankcase breather as is a common service item at this age and mileage. Finishing off under the hood, we installed a new air filter. Moving along to the chassis, we inspected both front and rear brakes and decided to renew all of the brake components. We installed new brake pads, rotors and master cylinder.
